Francis Albert van Alstyne (1 dicembre 1842 - 2 ottobre 1925) è stato un pianista, compositore, cantautore, attore e poeta americano. È nato a Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, e ha studiato musica al Conservatorio di musica del New England a Boston. Ha iniziato la sua carriera come pianista, ma in seguito si è dedicato alla composizione e alla scrittura di canzoni. Ha scritto oltre 2.000 canzoni, tra cui "My Sweetheart's the Man in the Moon", "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree" e "The Flower of My Heart". Scrisse anche la musica per diversi musical di Broadway, tra cui "The Belle of New York" (1897) e "The Girl from Paris" (1901). Morì a New York.
